here is the first answer:
You are using a 3rd party monitoring tool which monitors your server and such results are not 100% accurate. The 3rd party software may see your site inaccessible for various reasons like problem at the server end, intermittent network problem (i.e. between monitoring tool and our network) or even the problem with their server. We request you not to judge the uptime of your server by just using a single 3rd party monitoring tool.

we we use more then 1 one tool, and they all report the exact same outage and the exact same time (plus or minus 2 min) - i really dont care that my server is running if the world cant see it -- to me its down
..
i asked them to check further and that our tools monitor hundreds of servers and this is the only one we have issues on etc -- and i love the response i got
........
The report you had sent is really surprising. As per your logs the server is down for 18 Minutes and you had not contacted us for this downtime. This shows the reliability of the third part tool you are using.
We have 700+ Dedicated Server clients, 50+ Shared Hosting Servers and 150+ VPS Node, We have not received any complaints so far for our Network and Up-time. I am afraid, we can't rely on third party monitoring tools. I request you to get in touch with us when you find your server/website is not accessible in future.

i am interested in knowing if anyone else is having the same issue -
james - if you want to look at this my ticket # #ZBJ-88055-939
i think the issue is network routing from where are server is - its not affecting a majority of people - it would affect a very small group on a certain - it can even me a patch cable --
i just want somebody at webhosting.uk.com to take accountability and really exam the issue and help troubleshoot it - not just give me smart ass remarks - (not yours) - i realize its not an entire network, or a peering, etc
our third party tool is very very accurate - yesterday and this morning we had it notify us that our server with you was down - i went to check through my browser the server was not accessible, i couldnt ssh, and i couldnt ping -- so its not a false alarm - 12 min later all back up
exam the server stats - the server was not down - it was up the entire time - so it tells me its a network routing issue somewhere -
I have asked our technicians to check NIC card and patch cord of your server. I don't think there's anything else which would be responsible for such problem.
Please update the Ticket #ZBJ-88055-939 with your current root password. We may need to login in your server once we are notified about same problem by our monitoring system.
