Hi
I'm totally new to WHM, cpanel and Linux. I've set up a site on my new linux VPS. It's currently hosted elsewhere, and I want to point the domain name to the new site. I only want to change the website part, not the email (MX record?). How do I go about this? Do I ask the current (tag holders?/registrant) GXN to point it to the http://ipaddress/~username address I have, or can I gain greater control doing it a different way ? Thanks. |

ask your registrar to point A record of your domain name to main IP address of your VPS. Your domain will start resolving from your VPS and your emails will continue to work from your existing server ( not our vps ).

Server has all required information configured in httpd.conf and you won't need to do anything once your domain is pointed to servers IP address. httpd.conf provides with path of directory which is automatically configured at the time of account setup.
