Default cPanel - Email Templates?

Hi..

How comes with cPanel it's not possible to modify the email templates? What I mean is when a client signs up and they will receive a welcome email. How can this email template aswell as subject be changed?

I heard it's not possible, isn't this a stupid thing to not be able to change around? Or have I heard wrong? Is there anyway to edit cPanel templates?

Thanks in advance

Hello Karim, cPanel / WHM don't have any inbuilt billing system to send welcome email to customers. You need to consider a third party billing system like Modernbill, WHMCS, Whoiscart, Clientexec or WHMAutopilot. There is no such welcome email template within cpanel or WHM. WHM will send notification of new account setup to Administrator email address but it wont send any welcome email to customer.

I have used only Modernbill for years so I have no knowledge of WHMCS. Many customers have appreciated WHMCS recently so there should be good documentation available on their website. demodemo.com has also done a tutorial on WHMCS so you can check that as well.

I modifiyed the email templates but it's using its default one. I've seen this type of email template before with cPanel looks like this:-

This can be seen only when you add a new account from WHM. thats not a template and it wont be sent to the customers for whom you will be creating the account.

Hmmm... when a customer orders from WHMCS they will see this

that is sent to the email of the account when a customer has ordered from WHMCS, whether it's a cPanel account or what ever it will always be displayed like that. As you say this is from cPanel; are you saying there is no way to change this?

Thanks in advance

Hi Karimali,

You can change the email templates which you use in WHMCS in the options panel. That template you have posted above should not be sent to users if you are setting the accounts up automatically.

You'd have to edit /scripts/wwwacct manually and then keep an eye on it as a upcp run will restore it.

Hope that helps

Wiinscp was the one I forgot.
WinSCP is easier than Putty so I'll use that.

Thanks both
