Admin - I wasn't moaning because my nav didn't work - it did work when I first uploaded it. I was moaning about tech sup BREAKING it while FIXING something else which shouldn't have been broken in the first place. They then almost denied that there was a problem and then completely failed to read previous emails and therefore completely misunderstood the problem

BTW - I haven't got a clue what you are talking about when you said the following

Hi Cassie,
every web site has an ip address. This address is used to find where each website is located. Your site and mine have a different ip address, my site is located in a different location to yours. Now it is possible to share an ip address (shared hosting) which means that all sites sharing this same address are located in the same place.
By the 'same place' I am referring to the same partition of a hard drive, an equivalent would be your C drive on your pc. So if you had 2 sites on different servers you would have different ips for both. Just like your home pc you can also partition your drive so you have more than one sector, so you could have C drive, D drive, E drive and so on, and each partition could have more than one ip address.

None of the above is strictly true! but i can't explain it any better and hope you kind of see where i am going with it. You can google ip and look at the wikipedia site which may shed some light.

The address i used above it the ip address of your craft-kits site.

If you want to find out the ip of any of your sites you can ping them by following below.

Click on your start menu > then Accessories > then command prompt. Once you have the command prompt window running just type ping then whatever site you want to ping . i.e: ping craft-kits.co.uk

This will give you the ip address of that site, you can then use the link in the previous post to find out what other sites are using this same ip address.

Hope that makes some sense

Jon

I was talking about having separate sites on separate servers Jon - not mirroring sites.

If you think your reseller account was expensive you should see the quote we have just had from Rackspace for a managed server

It was at least 3 times more expensive than the next cheapest but the kind of redundancy they were offering was pretty amazing and if they really can't get you straight back up and running they compensate you for each hour of downtime.

We haven't gone with them though - just too expensive.

Probably the same shock i received when getting a quote for a streaming server

I think it was dear for a reseller account though, especially with the specs we had. Although £1 was too much when you consider the service and support we received
