Alrite, i think i've calmed down from the last few days of crazyness.. I've decided to stay with you guys.

Reson for this is that i admire how you guys have managed to take all the jazz from angry/annoyed customers over the last few days, and still be able keep working on things without it dragging you down.

I gave you guys a call this morning concerning a few things with my VPS hosting and you guys do sound pretty stressed out at the moment.

There is just one or two things i would like to see from you guys, that would help my confidence and the confidence of other people. Its to round up one or two photos of the building and the servers/rooms you have in the building (Obviosuly nothing that could cause a security risk) I've seen hundreds of Hosts do this, and personaly i like it when they actualy show us what were getting, this is the kind of people your going to be working with and so on. Then maybe make a new page "About us" with a little bit of history & information about the company, it then just shows you have nothing to hide.

Anyways, i'd like to hear everyone elses views on this.

That sounds like a really good idea - although (god forbid) they could put up any old photo of a server room.

When I was looking for web hosting one of the first questions I asked was - how long have you been going. I would also have liked to have asked how many staff they had working for them and "are the staff in the UK or India"

An About Us page is always my first port of call on any website.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have discussed this with our senior staff members and we will have a new about us page which will include all necessary information about our datacenter, offices, staff and company age / operations.

OK - the information on that page does seem a little out of date but more importantly - when I searched the website before deciding to join here I never found that page.

Surely an About Us page should be one of the first that a customer sees not buried in the Knowledge Base.

Have you ever thought about getting a new website altogether? One of things that put me off signing up when I first saw your company was that the site looked like a $5 template site... It would really improve your company image if you had an original slick design... and as the others have suggested above make it more personalised to show you arent just some guy in his bedrooms starting a hosting business with a free template.

Sites like Rackspace and Media temple have really slick corporate sites... and if you didnt want to goto the expense of getting a new site you could always cut a deal with one of the many webdesigners your bound to have on your books.

Or even better do a competition where people design and send in visuals for an alternate webhosting.uk.com homepage and the winner gets a free package or something.

Sorry i'm getting carried away!

Personal preference aside, from a business perspective having a more original tailor made site looks better than using a stock template... and since your mainly selling to web designers any webdesigner worth their salt would realise the homepage looks templatey, and that did go through my mind when I considered WebhostingUK.com.

It was just a suggestion.

Personally I don't care what a website looks like - I have seen some great looking websites only to find they are a 'one man band' and not worth my time.
At the end of the day service is everything - knowing a service is reliable and not spending time and money on fancy websites. Knowing that the service will not fail and problems will be sorted asap - ummm.... perhaps I went too far there
