We cannot upgrade php version on tristar but we can move your account on another server which has got php5. other customers on tristar wont spare us if we upgrade php on it.

Thanks for appreciating cpanel 11. cPanel seems to kill competition in Linux based control panel market.

You can upgrade it on your VPS from your end. Simply open your WHM and go to cPanel >> Upgrade to Latest Version

Choose "Automatic (CURRENT tree)" in "Update Settings". click on back button and complete the upgrade.

That went well, nearly 2 hours to update and then nothing changed. Well apart from no aaccess to whm then services failing one after another.

Also maybe teething problems due to moveing to maidenhead, but whm and cpanel most of the time unusable, either timing out (page cannot be displayed) or taking forever to do anything with it. I have noticed as well that it seems low on resources, server load flashing red, memory status flashing red or minimum flashing yellow. I asked Victor to take a look but when he did it was ok. He needed to click on 2 or 3 options in whm then see it time out regulary.

Back to my original point, no idea why it didn't update but don't want to try again when i have these problems

cpanel upgrade overloads the server / VPS as the new version has included many new features and if you decide to do this during business hours then you have load of 3+ even on a high configuration dedicated server.

Once the upgrade is completely then the load drops but seems like something went wrong in case of your VPS. you can do the upgrade from SSH as well using the command :-

/scripts/upcp --force

but try to do it during off-peak hours.

We must have replied at same time, just seen this post admin.

Tried update about 3am ........To be honest, my whm is really unusable. It isn't even from the move to Maidenhead, it has been for a couple of months now. I get server load and memory problems all the time, especially after 9pm ??????

I even sent you a pm about it quite some time ago. You never replied but i didn't bother with it as I guess I got used to putting up with it. The probelm lately though is that it isn't just really slow to load, it is timing out, so i can't even get into the whm control interface.

EDIT 11.56 pm : Again cannot login to whm or and cpanles from my web sites. Guarantee server load and mem usage will be very high hence the time out

I still am having problems with whm and memeory/cpu resources. SO much so that it is affecting my websites. Very slow page loads.
1 minute it's ok the next timing out. Seems my memory usage is averaging 79% (is this normal). Seems only to take a couple more % to give me all these problems.
Am I sharing with someone who is hogging all the resources?

Seems always fine in the morning, as the afternoon goes on the resources get lower and lower

My PM box was full so I never received any PM from you. let me know the IP address of your VPS and I will get all problems sorted which you are facing right now. even I wont tolerate slowdown or high load on my server so this needs to be rectified.

our system admins are trying to find out whats wrong on the node. We've moved one vps out of this node which had a big mysql intensive website so hopefully everything should be right from today.
