Default Accepted Domains

I'm in the process of hosting several domains here from 123-reg, Is there a limit to what type of domains you can register? and/or what type you can host?

Primariliy I'll be using this service for mail forwarding but will stick on a few bits and pieces from fantastico...oh and some litghtweight forums.

tks

There is no limit you can register any type of domain name. We can host any tld or cctld. We do not provide domain registration services for many international domains, but we can host websites and e-mail accounts.

Excellent, if I wished to host one of my eu domains here moving from 123-reg what would I need to do?

Simply change the nameservers at 123-reg to point to yours? eg: ns9.redbackinternet.co.uk & ns10.redbackinternet.co.uk:87.117.200.164

If that is the case then I have already tried this and raised a support ticket with 123 as thier changing of NS keeps timing out.

tks

Since this is 123-reg I'm not holding my breath, is there anyway I can get access to cpanel without the NS servers pointing to you guys?

Yes.

You can access your cpanel from "http://87.117.200.158:2082" and you can check your website using the temporary URL :-

Wierd, I can acces the billing system with my username/pass but not the support site suggesting that something might have gone out of synch.

Our helpdesk has no synchronization with the billing system as both are on different servers. You will need to setup new account for our helpdesk but you can open ticket even without signing up for an account.

Account signup would be helpful only if you wish to track history of all tickets under your email address.

I would like to know your domain name so that I can get back to you with the details of your account. I will resend the welcome email as it contains all the information that you need.

nostrebor.eu - I'm currently chatting with a chap called Ben via the live chatting thing atm

I have the welcome mail details but what seems to be causing the issues is a 5.99 refund I got as a discount.

Hello Steve,

You are one of the most intelligent customers I've ever seen as the billing system did exactly what you mentioned.

We had issued refund of £5 as per Christmas offer and billing system terminated your account from the server. I got that sorted in the billing system and welcome email has been sent to you.

Your temporary access URL is http://87.117.200.158/~steverob/

Refund issued through paypal sent message to callback URL of our billing system and it marked your invoice as a chargeback invoice which resulted in termination of your account after the hourly cron ran for the billing system.

We have daily backups on our servers so if you need backup of any data previously uploaded then do let me know.

Thanks for the compliment, but I did nothing more than make an educated guess
No data placed and no restores required thanks.

Just glad its all running. thank you kindly. everything appears to be working fine now tks.

Now if I can just get 123 to change the nameservers I'll be happy.

Yeah.

Once the nameservers get pointed then you wont need to worry much as you will just need to login in your 123-reg account and pay the invoice once in 2 years.

Just a quick update.

123-reg have still not changed the nameservers yet 9it is with them at the moment), thier crap system for the user to change the NS's results in this: "Sorry, an internal error occurred and we were unable to process your request."

After sending some mails to the CEO of Pipex I got them to at least resolve one issue that was outstanding with the mail but still no joy with the nameservers...perhaps I need to resend a message to him once per week so he doesnt forget...

Probably they don't need customers. They are fed up of giving service to customers and planning to expand their business without customers
