Default Yahoo v Google email service

What do you think makes more sense, Yahoo's unlimited space or Google's always increasing space? As I type this message Google's free email space storage is at 5Gigs, and counting. Each second Google's storage space goes up, not by much per second, but you will notice that there is a change in the size of your mail box at the end of the month.

What do you guys think? If you were to choose between Google and Yahoo free email box, which one would you choose? Which one do you prefer?

I use Gmail as for one, you never see google down unless it's maintenance. Upon a few occasions i've seen Yahoo's servers being overloaded and crashing.

Thats my POV, and i can manage ALL of my email accounts into one master account with Gmail so it's easy

lol.

I don't think one should ask such question. Yahoo is absolutely BS and Yahoo's mail servers should be permanently blocked by all ISP's and hosting companies.

easy tiger

I use Gmail myself because I like the interface. And because a few years ago when it launched it was a real pain to get an invite and having one gave you uber-geek status

its difficult to explain how painful it has been in last couple of months to deal with Yahoo mail delivery failure problem. I've lost many hours in sorting Yahoo mail delivery problems.

At least employ people who can keep your mail servers tuned. Idiotic competition with other free email service providers is useless if you don't have that potential to compete.

Personally I find Gmail has the best spam filters I've ever used. I can't remember the last time it didn't correctly identify a piece of spam and chuck it in the spam folder.

I think Gmail's SPAM control is best (and hotmail is worst). I remember once I got a Pishing mail in disguise of PayPal, it was in Spam folder, on the first look even I got confused and thought that Gmail has done mistake with an important mail, afterwards I recognized it as Pishing mail. After that I have trust on Gmail, however Gmail make mistakes but those are rare.

And 5 GB of space is enough for a mailbox, unlimited space is useless (for me at lest). Some of the features for which I think Gmail is special are : POP and IMAP support, mail forwarding, setting custom filters. I don't like checking email through webmail, so POP and IMAP is very essential for me to check with email clients like Outlook.

Hotmails spam filter is bloody awful. I get spam with the most obvious subjects - stuff like 'Buy-V14gra now' - and it never spots it.

I think Gmail is string in interface and security.
But yahoo mail has some features I like it,
Yahoo folder is very best option for separate your email.
Newly it increase its capacity.
Tabbed interface.
I afraid of Google. It save all my info and read my brain.

For me gmail has good uptime, and in a few years i've only ever had a problem once, where for some reason i was locked out, but eventually it sorted itself out. Although I must admit I'm thinking about using my own email services and just using google as a backup service.
