Default VPS hosting or VDS hosting

Is there any real difference between VPS and VDS?

As far as I know there is no difference between the two. Both the terms Virtual Private Server(VPS) and Virtual Dedicated Server(VDS) are one and the same and are used interchangeably.

According to their requirement and needs people come up with such things although they mean the same.

VPS and VDS is one and the same. These terms are used by the web hosting providers to designate root access.

VPS is a virtual private server and VDS is a virtual dedicated server. VPS is based on hosting multiple domains whereas VDS lies between lies between semi-dedicated and dedicated. IMO, VPS has more support for multiple sites.

VPS and VDS are same. They are more Resources dependent than Hardware . A virtual server means you have access to the server and it is setup as if it's a dedicated server just the hardware is shared.
