Bandwidth price varies from one hosting provider to other

Why is it that some webhosting providers offer 500GB of bandwidth for lower price while other hosting companies offer the same bandwidth for higher prices? Is bandwidth really that expensive?

Well it depends where the host is based. In some places bandwidth is expensive, like in Austrailla. And other places like the USA where bandwidth is much inexpensive.

No matter,where your host is located, but if his server is situated in different country where bandwidth price much more, then to coverup this expense he may charge more for same bandwidth compare to other host.

I think the bandwidth prices varies cos of server location not the host location and to some extent it also depends on the network uptime, connectivity, quality of hosting, support and services.
