Depends on how you feel about Microsoft, I think Apache is perhaps one of the best software products ever written and I am confident it will regain its market share if lost.

The latest MS server builds look pretty good though. Add that to the free development tools that they are supplying for .NET and I think you could see Apache's market share slip a bit more.

Those figures are not really suprising considering that Microsoft has already cleaned up their act with IIS6. Secure and stable, although not quite as fast, mostly because of the underlying of Windows Server 2003.
About Paul's question, well I don't think Linux would overtake Windows on home desktops in the next few years atleast. ![]() |
