Default uploading my site.

Ok so I have uploaded a page to the webserver and thats great. How do I make it the default webpage?

As at the moment it is still redirected to the default page that plesk automatically supplies.

ok cool I did that but there is already an index.html page in the httpdocs folder so I had to rename my one to something else.

Should I just get rid of the other one?

It's also not worth looking at yet as I was just experimenting with a blank document. Still getting used to plesk. I will post a URL when I have some content for it lol.

It doesn't actually matter what the extention is as long as it is called 'index'. So .html, .htm, .php, .asp, etc will all work as a default page.

ok so I changed the name to index but it still doesn't display that page.

It keeps displaying the "this is the default page for the domain" thing.

has the domain resolved on your account? sounds like it hasn't.

Can we have the address?

Or ask live support to look into it.

As mentioned as long as it in called index and in the ROOT or your public_html folder, then should work

are you sure you have removed the old index file. Your new one should be index.something as described in jons post.

index.html would do for simplicity, but do remove the old one first.
