Default Newbie/novice needs help to move domain

Hi folks

I would appreciate advice on how to tidy up my world!

I recently subscribed to a CPANEL Shared Hosting Package here. I did not port any domains. I have relocated my web pages to Web Hosting UK. My main domain is .net - lets say mydomain.net. I registered this with FreeParking and have always used their Web Forwarding feature to get to my pages. So at the moment it points to 91.186.0.9/~dukla . I also use their email forwarding feature to forward mail to me@mydomin.net to a 'real' email address.

Now, I figure the smart thing is to use my setup here to host directly, rather than forwarding. At Freeparking I can modify the DNS (Name Server) details held by INWW, CORE, FPDR or EURid for mydomain.net to the nameserver info I got in my welcome email from Webhosting.uk.

Questions:
1) Does this single change also make Webhosting.uk the target of mail addressed to @mydomain.net? In which case I presume the smart thing is to setup the relevant email options in Cpanel first.
2) When I create email accounts in Cpanel do I get hints abut the POP/SMTP names?
3) I presume the renewal of the domain registration is still handled via Freeparking?
4) Anything else the average novice gets wrong with this kind of move? (I understand it takes up to 72 hours for the change to bubble through the web)

5) When I get mydomain.net under control I want to do the same thing with anotherdomain.me.uk which seems to be different! Seems I have to 'release' it by entering the IPSTAG of Webhosting.uk . What is the ipstag for Webhosting.uk? And in advance I will need to do some fancy domain stuff in Cpanel - do I need an Addon or Parked domain? Or something else?

Cheers for any help. Apologies for any poor use of terminology by this novice!

Hello,

Thanks for signing up with us.

I've answered all your questions as follows:

1) Does this single change also make Webhosting.uk the target of mail addressed to @mydomain.net? In which case I presume the smart thing is to setup the relevant email options in Cpanel first.
Ans: Yes, your mails will resolve from our server and you can setup your email options through cPanel.

2) When I create email accounts in Cpanel do I get hints abut the POP/SMTP names?
Ans: You can create email accounts through cPanel but you will not get hints about the POP/SMTP names. Your POP/SMTP names would be mail.yourdomain.net

3) I presume the renewal of the domain registration is still handled via Freeparking?
Ans: As you have not transfered the domain to us your domain renewal will be handled by your existing registrar.

4) Anything else the average novice gets wrong with this kind of move? (I understand it takes up to 72 hours for the change to bubble through the web)
Ans: After updating the nameservers the domain propagation would take 12 - 24 Hrs.

Ans: If you wish to transfer your .me.uk domains to us then you will have to change the IPS tag of your domain to "ENOM". You can host the .me.uk domain under your existing package as an addon domain. Your .me.uk domain will have its individual website and directory.

Have moved mydomain.net - went without a hiccup. In fact routing from my ISP was swapped over in less than 2 hours - I appreciate it may have still been bubbling around the world for a bit longer.

Also an update on point 2 - once email addresses are created there is an icon in Cpanel to configure your email package that re-states all the settings required, so again no issues there.

Thanks again.

Will update again if/when I take on anotherdomain.me.uk. A bit more fraught as I have a phpBB there but the files are under mydomain.net directory so need to check if anything needs editing before I flick the switch!
