Afternoon....
I have a VPS here....its running very well apart from one issue that arose yesterday.... I have a client having trouble viewing her sites...but I can view them just fine. Ive tried pinging the sites...that comes back ok...but when i ping the nameservers ....I get cannot find host I went to Live Chat and they say its a local ISP intermittent fault.... Now thats strange...I am in UK...while my client is Netherlands....and she gets exactly the same results as me on ping. Is this possible??? I would not have thought so but I could be wrong. How can a local ISP interfere with the nameservers on my VPS??? If anyone has any answers I would be more than grateful. MaryT |

Hello Mary,
Please run this command before you execute ping command :- ipconfig /flushdns This command will clear DNS cache of your local machine and you will get response to ping query once you flush dns cache of your local machine.

Yes I understand about the propagation...thanks Dan
but I wouldnt have thought that was in the case ib this issue...but heck DNS and the web can act up sometimes...lolBut it seems my clients issue has been resolved...she replied this morning saying she can now view her sites.... I still have the problem with the ping on the nameservers but maybe it will right itself...lol But Im not going to worry about it unless another problem crops up ![]() If its not broken, leave well alone is my motto...lol Thanks for all the input guys...I appreciate it ![]() MaryT Last edited by MaryT; 01-25-2008 at 03:38 PM. |
