Morning.....
This may be a lengthy thread...I apologise in advance.... I purchased a VPS account around the 8th of this month and transferred all my accounts from previous VPS supplier. So then the fun begins.... I had regsitered my domain, myself, through the Domain Registration with my previous VPS supplier.... I emailed asking them to update my nameservers to the new IP address for the new VPS here with Webhosting UK.... Then I went to try and update the nameservers to point to the VPS as we do when changing hosts. I could not access my domain account.... Either the site was not functioning correctly OR I had been locked out of my account. When I did finally manage to login it would not allow me to change anything! Said my domain name was locked As you can imagine that caused problems as without those changes nothing was going to be pointing to my new VPS. I had 12 clients sitting there with their websites not resolving to the server, as I had already set the nameservers when signing up. So I talked to support about registering a new domain name and what problems it may cause. As they said nothing I went ahead and let them register it for me giving them access to change everything that was needed. Then the problems began.... So...support changed the nameservers to the default ones as my own nameservers were resolving to 2 IP addresses... My clients changed their nameservers to point to the default ones but everything was still resolving to the OLD domain name, nameservers and IP address of those nameservers. What a mess! Support have been fantastic! And billing...they changed everything that was needed and got everything going again. Problem is...my clients sites are still not showing up! One has the problem that if she puts www. in the address it comes up 'Page cannot be displayed'.....if she takes it out...it shows up. We talked to support last night...and one said it is still resolving to the old domain name and nameservers.... I guess the poor VPS is totally confused along with support and me! Bet support are running and hiding if they see me appear at Live Chat or sending a ticket.... Does anyone have any suggestions about this and what might be the cause?? Its driving me nuts! I know there have been a few changes made to the VPS by admin....maybe that will settle the issue I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas on this. Im beginning to wonder if I made an error in the setup.... Hope I explained this ok.... MaryT |

Hello Mary, I will get this sorted for you. I am quite sure that there's something wrong with the nameserver IPs so I will get new nameservers registered for you on one of our DNS domain and you can use our nameservers for your VPS. Please open a ticket and let me know the ticket # as that will help me to get it sorted in less time.

You can send but not receive, this proves that there's something wrong with nameservers of your domain and I will get this sorted for you once you open a ticket.

I just received this from one of my clients
This is what she got when trying to change nameservers on her domain name.... I had new nameservers set up when I registered the new domain name....
