Default CHMOD from my FTP client?

I need to CHMOD some files, which can be done through plesk.

I'm on the windows shared plans, by the way.

I use SmartFTP to FTP my files etc, but when I try to CHMOD, it tells me "Command not understood". I looked this up on the SmartFTP site, it tells me that this is server side.

I don't really want to depend on logging in to Plesk to CHOMD files. I contact the 24/7 support and they tell me it's not possible.

These unfortunatley are the same people who told me my hosting package did not support multiple domans, yet it does (And I've got them set up and working fine)

So, the question is;

Is it possible to CHMOD from within my FTP client, (SmartFTP) and if so, how do I set it up as it currently refuses to work?

Your problem is the second line of your post.
You can't CHMOD files yourself with an FTP app on a windows server.

There's no CHMOD command on Windows Servers. If you don't need ASP.NET and MSSQL then we can move your account on one of our Linux - cPanel server. cPanel is the best control panel in hosting Industry so you are missing cPanel if you are on a windows hosting plan.
