Default Cheap Forum hosting

I've been asked to look into setting up a forum for a charity. It's probably going to start very small but it may grow. I am wondering what the best type of hosting for it would be. I'm not worried about bandwidth or hard drive space, but I am unsure about a forum's CPU and memory demands. Would it be a sensible thing to host through my reseller, or do forums require a more specialised package?

Many thanks,
John

phpbb could be best to start charity related forum that you are looking for & for hosting possibly you should go for VPS especially you are expecting to grow fast otherwise go for share hosting.

forums aren't cpu hungry these days, i once had 3 forums on one simple hosting account. 2 were quite busy.
I know of a few very busy forums on standard hosting packages and they never have any problems. submariners.co.uk for one.

I think you must have deleted your post and redone it after I replied to it

I was saying, yes I'm on phpBB and with the shared linux hosting it runs very well.

Thanks for the help, I think I'll stick it on my reseller and keep monitoring it for growth.

Starting a forum is often touch and go, so a shared or reseller account will help you to avoid spending more money on hosting services.
I'd just go for a hosting account with phpbb installed for you.

Shared hosting plan is good enough to start a phpbb forum and as the traffic and the server resources consumption increases you may upgrade to higher hosting plans as per your requirements.

Yes that's true and this hosting package comes with cheaper prices, good for starter.
