Hi, I'm hoping to get some info about hosting services, because it's my first time I'm trying to choose one and I don't know much about web sites and their hosting. What I have found is that one hosting company is offering their services at .com site and at co.uk site and the difference in price for the same package is 4-5 times cheeper at .com (in dollars) than at co.uk. Am I going to have any service problems or difficulties by getting package suited for usa residents if I reside in uk? Thank you.

your browsing speed wont be good for USA based server as you are in UK and the ping response will be slow from US based server.
other factor would be rankings in search engines. If your potential customers or visitors are in UK then you wont get good ranking in google.co.uk as your website will be categorized as a US based website.

Thank you for your time. After I red your answer I got confused and have another question. As I understand (and I might be wrong) once I upload content - text, pictures etc. to my web site, anyone with a decent internet speed can quickly access my web site and browse through the pages no matter where its server is based. It's like I'm browsing at the moment living in uk and accessing web sites whose servers are based in usa and I don't feel any difference in speed compared to those web sites whose servers are based in uk. By the way search engine rankings at the moment is not an issue, I'm just trying to get into owing my own web site field
. Thank you for your time once again. |
