Default UK reseller hosting

How are you doing everybody who knows and who doesn't know , welcome all.

I'm getting the reseller stuff very seriously and I've made my mind to a 40GB but the question is:

We all do know that LINUX hosting is better than Windows but sometimes there are clients who ask for an ASP and .NET support or .DLLs , so what do you think is better to have a Linux Package, a Windows Package or a 50%,50% does mean a 20GB under Linux and 20GB under Windows?

PLZ I need your suggestion before the end of the next week, and I appreciate any post here.

If you have both Linux and Windows clients then you should opt for one Linux reseller and one windows reseller hosting account.

A Dedicated Server has a lot more benefits over a reseller.
1) Dedicated Resources
2) Root Access
3) Privacy & Isolation

A Dedicated Server would give you more reliability and room to expand with your web hosting business.

Thanks James for the formal reply , and if I get a dedicated server , can I open whatever port I want and install any new thing that I like to add?

it's like installing a messenger gateway that requires a certain port to be opened to be able to communicate with other clients?

On a dedicated server you are allowed to open the port and install new applications but you have to take care of the bandwidth and cpu usage which is being used due to those ports and applications.

I think , a dedicated server needs a good expert in domain of server's management , and need a 24/7 online support that seems something tough for a beginner.

The best choice to start seems to buy a simple reseller package and since we're more familiarized with LINUX , it would be a Linux Package I guess.

Wish me good luck, I have a crappy bank that I deal with it, we still discuss the wire transfer issue , and they said they will tax me a 25% of the funded sum!!!

I think they still live in caves till now , I should look for opening an HSBC affiliation here

What a great services here , nice to find such a place

our servers are fully managed. We take care of all important security settings and if requested by customers then we send them brief summary of security settings done by us.

You wont need to spend anything extra for management of your server. It would be better to have a small windows reseller account for those who need ASP.NET, MSSQL, MS ACCESS but dont choose big windows server or windows reseller account just because windows supports everything.

Linux - cPanel server would be best option for your customers who need php / mysql only. Windows has got poor email / mysql functionalities.

It is possible to host ASP scripts under a Linux environment. This is a value added service by some web host providers. It can be done thru Chilisoft's technology.

Chillisoft ASP is possible on Linux Servers but ASP.NET or MSSQL cannot run from Linux Servers.

good question

mono asp can be setup on Linux Servers. I've never tried that so far but as per google search there should not be any problem with its installation on Linux.

I know that Mono used to be a bit weak but there's something of a buzz about it now and it's getting to be quite popular.
