Cool

As Microsoft, Mozilla, and Opera are about to release new versions of their browsers PC World reviewed Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1, Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 1, and Opera 9 Preview 1.

There are no losers in this shootout. Internet explorer is advised you don't want to uses advanced options. If you want more out of your browser, choosing Firefox or Opera comes down to whether you like to play with the settings which require a fair amount of time and effort.

Bit out of date as IE7 is in RC1 now, FF 1.5 is released and 2 is in preview and Opera 9 is official.

More than 60% people in the world are using IE so its very difficult to convince those people to switch to FireFox as those who have limited work on Internet have limited knowledge only and if they have Microsoft OS on their system then they never think of anything else beyond FireFox.

I tried Opera before switching to firefox and at that time I felt that Opera was better than IE. When someone told me about FireFox then I was lil uncomfortable to switch but the person who recommended was a expert system administrator and I was forced to accept his view about Firefox.

Today I do feel that firefox is the best browser and most secure browser. I had no virus problems with my system in last 2 - 3 years.

I don't use Opera for a very specific reason, and it's because it is so slow on my computer. The browser I like most and use is Firefox. Sometimes Firefox becomes slow, and I decide to use Opera, and vise versa. But out of them all, I think Firefox is the best browser at the moment. Internet Explorer 7 is out, and at the moment, it's not that good, but as it improves I will start to use IE7 and see if I can switch to IE7. IE7 has Tabs now, which is a bonus.

Post Internet Explorer and FireFox.

According to me IE and FF are good as i use both of them. At home its IE and at work FF and enjoy working on both of them so no real issues with it, as far as Opera is concerned i have never used it before.

I've tried Firefox and I don't know what the fuss is about, I think it is rubbish. I haven't tried it but I think Opera could be best. I'm still sticking with Microsoft though...

I go for firefox, the tab feature was really amazing when i first used it. However, IE7 has the same feature now, which is kind of funny coz i think it just copied everything that people liked about firefox. so if you have already switched to firefox, there's no point in upgrading to ie7.

If you're a Windows user you still need to upgrade to IE 7 even if you primarily use FF, IE7 isn't just a UI update things are substantially different under the hood as well. If you're a Web designer/developer it's even more important because that's the browser the vast majority of your users will be using.

i use ie7, sometimes i dont like firefox since i cant view properly other websites besides i see no point of using firefox since majority is using internet explorer and im using win vista it might be safer but nothing is really safe on the internet these days maybe one advantage i can pinpoint about firefox is that, it protects pop-up's better than ie.

I saw some figures recently that suggested people were moving away from FF back to IE7 - possibly because FF2 wasn't exactly earth shattering in the new features it added.

I used internet explorer since version 4 but i really don't like the new ie7 it drives me mad with all the security features and is nothing like the old ones. So i looked around a bit for a different browser and found Firefox which i absolutly love apart from the amount of memory usage which can slow your computor down quite a bit.

I'm a big Firefox fan. I use the IE add-on to help with problems and to test website at times.
