Default cPanel Password Changes

When Passwords are changed in cPanel do they take time to update or should they update immediately?

Once you change the cpanel password it doesn't take any time to update. It is updated immediately.

Thats what I thought James, but when I change passwords in Domain cPanel I find that only the old password lets me log in again?
However, if I change them in WHM cPanel they all update immediately.

not sure how this is possible but if you can open a ticket for our support team then we can take a look into this problem and sort it out. If you have no problem in disclosing your domain name over here then I can look into it.

Thanks Administrator, I think I may be a bit confused here.

(1) Does changing the Password in cPanel also change the password used for remote ftp login?

(2) Yesterday when I changed the cPanel login it told me it had changed, but when I logged into cPanel again I had to use the old password.

(3) Today I tried again and both the old and new passwords allow me to login to cPanel.

(4) If I change passwords using WHM all passwords change correctly.

Just an update, Live Chat operator found that she could also login using both the old and new cPanel passwords so I have opened a ticket.

You can login in your client account with root password, reseller password and client password.

Your old password would be same as that of the reseller account password.

I think root access is given by the host in the hosting plans themselves.

tantawey - Your posts have to be QUALITY posts. Just saying "thank you for post" to every topic is NOT Quality.
James - I hope they will not be getting a free domain for this type of thing - it is very annoying.
