Default Best Web Hosting

As I have said before and I shall definately say again I don't know much about websites or hosting for that matter.

I was just wondering what is the best type of host for my website? I've seen cpanel hosting, php hosting, windows hosting, linux hosting and more that I can't even remember, but what is the difference between all of them? Will someone please explain this thing to me properly??

All of these features that one gets with an hosting account like ftp, mysql, ssi, php, phpmyadmin and fantastico, what are they for and how are they used?

Well someone explain please??

cpanel hosting, php hosting & linux hosting are nothing but one and the same. PHP gets installed on the Linux Server when you install cpanel and cpanel works on Linux Servers only. PHPMyAdmin is also installed by default when you install cpanel as cpanel install's MySQL as well.

Fantastico is an addon software that can be installed alongwith cpanel to provide many click and install scripts to customers.

Windows Hosting is preferred by those who need asp, asp.net, mssql, msaccess, odbc or DSN hosting features. If you don't need asp.net or microsoft sql server then you should choose cpanel hosting only.

Managing Linux servers is quite easy but windows has some limitations due to limited logging and hidden coding behind DLL's.

That's a lot of terms to cover - why not go to wikipedia and look them up then if you have specific questions on particular technologies you can ask them and someone here will probably know the answer.
