Hosting Costs - is £225 pm for 10Gb too much?

A website that I have to help look after has recently seen it's bandwith increase to over 10Gb in a month. the hosting company now says that we should pay them extra - from £175 to £225 per month - because of this.

I've just discovered that we are paying these prices per month and I think they are way too high. Am I right in thinking this? I thought somewhere near £50 per month would be average. I have a feeling that we should change our hosting company, I think they are charging us such a high rate because we have been with them for years and no one here really understands much about IT.

What do you all reckon?

At this situation I would suggest better to shift to other hosting company, I would personally recommend you to go with http://www.webhosting.uk.com., I am confident that you wont come across with such problem that you are facing with your current host.

Although I don't know much about websites or hosting for that matter that sounds way too much!!! I visited and see a good amount of hosting companies and trust me in alot of cases that kind of money can pay for a whole year of service, with a whole lot of features and with a massive amount of bandwidth.
