Default Restore Website Backups

Admin, I have a client who has backed up his Site on his present Host and wants to transfer it to me. Can he upload a Backup? or is there any way to transfer his site directly from his present Host to your Servers?

If his previous host was using cpanel then we can do the transfer from our end using login details of his previous account. Open a ticket in our support section through our helpdesk and include URL to this thread in it and I one of our support person will take care of it.

Thanks Admin, in fact my Client had made a Backup of his Site using cPanel. After a lot of problems with Live Chat timing out, but on the advice of Live Chat operators I finally did raise a ticket and the Backup was installed. However, I was informed that as the Backup was for an Addon Domain in future I would need to install Backups myself. Anyone have any advice on a simple way to do this please.

Incidently during the attempts to get the Backup installed through Live Chat, no one mentioned that Addon Domain backups needed to be installed by Customers, even though I told them it was an Addon Domain backup. I was told by the operator to get my Client to change his cPanel language from Russian to English, before the Backup could be installed, but we found that cPanel had locked up and would not change, so it took a phone call to support to get cPanel refreshed. All in all it was a lengthy and complicated procedure, but thanks to all operators and the Service Department for their help and patience.

Good to hear that it got sorted finally. Restoring backups of addon domains is complicate as addon domains have their entries in many different configuration files.

Sometimes customers complain that the backup was not restored properly and we are blamed for that. Thats the only reason live chat operator requested you to do it from your end in future.

We need 2 - 3 days more to replace the existing CCS livechat but you can use MSN or AIM support till then.

Any advice or restoring Addon Domain backups, if I have to do it myself in the future, will be appreciated.
