Default Website pages

Do the main Domain Web Pages always have to go directly into the Public_HTML Folder or can they go into a Folder the same way as an Addon Domain?

They can go into a subfolder but we will need to make apache configuration changes for your account to change your default user directory.

You may face problems in future due to such customization so it is recommended to stick to public_html only

Thanks Administrator. The only reason I asked is that when I want to delete the Domain files it is difficult to know which folders are default and need to be left alone

But if we needed the web root changed for a particular reason (e.g. cakephp) that would be ok?

Yep.

Thats fine if you need it for some specific reason. You need to ensure that any folders / directories which are there below the public_html never get deleted.

If you delete mail folder then you will have problems with mail service. If you delete etc then you have problems with user logins and email passwords. www is a simlink to public_html and public_ftp is for ftp profiles.

That's the important information.

Many times people don't know such kind of things and get into the troubles as mentioned by Admin.

Can we not just ban this annoying yank? They aren't adding anything useful - just ads for their own service.

I always though that they should really go to public html but thank you for the information that changes can be made for this to work if the index page is placed elsewhere than that folder. Redirect option in the cpanel would also work, right?
