As there are millions of web hosting company on the net who advertise themselves to be the best due to which it has become a bit difficult to choose the right host. Is it possible to find a good company?

As mentioned above, research is the key. Do not make a decision based on the cost alone as you get what you pay for. You can refer to web hosting directories, compare the prices and plans of various hosts and accordingly take a decision. Once you have shortlisted a few companies check if they offer a free trial. If they do then checkout their support at night and see if it is as good as it is during the day.

I'd like to make the same point too.
Research is the Golden key here. U can post in forums related to hostinn to get hands on reviews. Or u can just look for sites that are well established in the market. Whois lookup the domain to see wen it was registered. I had come across a company who claimed to be in the business for 4 years. I looked up their domain and it was registered 2 months back !! |

I think there is a "right" webhost for everybody. What you need to do is see what you need in a host and then start your search. Once you find one with your requirments , check them out and if you like them pay and start using them.

I look for a good track record of support preferebly from recommendation of few trusted people, a good network, plenty of satisfied customers and also quick response.

To find a good webhosting provider, visit the web hosting forum and ask around. See what people are saying about the service providers. Visit their web sites, learn about their company and accordingly compare their services. Choose which one suits your needs and go for it. I personally suggest to go for free trial or drop a ticket to check their response time.

Just check for the support provided by the host, the server uptime, the prices.

For every hosting company you'll find people who love them and people who hate them. It's the same with computers, cars, airlines, mp3 players, toasters, the lot.
Find one that does what you want and suits the price you want to pay and go for it. You can easily move if it goes wrong. It's a bonus if someone you know has a good experience with them but it doesn't mean you will. |

But nothing wrong sharing ideas, am I right?
If the host maintains its service in a proper way, then every cleints would have good experience. For example, myself and many of my friends are very much satisfied with ************** . This is what we share here, its like helping each other.[ LINK REMOVED ] Last edited by Damien; 07-26-2007 at 12:12 PM. |
