Lightbulb Lifetime web hosting!

What do you think about Lifetime web hosting? Is it worth in long term?

Some says Lifetime web hosting is dangerous because it is “overselling.” But a quick calculation based on present-day dedicated server rates, you might say it is definitely feasible.

Lifetime is not actually life long but for as much as 30-50 years! I still think it’s a good deal. What do you think?<o></o><o></o>

Well Sanderson, I have come across a couple of web hosts who have introduced this lifetime hosting offer with attractive rates but their customers seem to be really upset with their hosting service as well as their support as the web host have without a doubt oversold their resources which create major downtime for their servers. People initially thought that it’s a very good offer with the kind of amount it was offered but what’s the use of such kind of service where the site regularly goes down, it seriously hits the business as well creates a bad taste with the visitors who visit the site regularly.
Who is going to guarantee you for 30-50 years with good service when web hosts change their level of service negatively in just a matter of months?
I would personally go for dedicated server hosting as my business will be more important to me than saving some bucks on lifetime hosting.

And how is the company going to guarantee that it will still be here in 30 to 50 years? Sounds very dodgy to me. And I bet that there is a clause in the ToS saying they reserve the right to change the terms of the service.

Offering lifetime hosting could be an interesting way to start with hosting business and to raise start-up capital to advertise etc. but the intention should be to use the capital wisely. Not anyone would be able do this though, the person would have to be trusted greatly because many people that might try this would probably be in it to make a quick buck.

Customer satisfaction and good services is what hosting companies should provide weather it is for lifetime or short term. IMO, WebHosting UK is a perfect example in doing so. If you are looking for a good webhost, Webhosting Uk is what I will suggest.

LOL. Lifetime webhosting plan is just a way to fool customers and make instant money. I don't trust such plans as owners of those hosting companies have some misunderstanding and they think that the customers are fool and customers don't understand the tricks.

I would never recommend such lifetime hosting plans. Even 2 years plans or 4 years plans are not recommended as one cannot predict when the company would stop receiving signups and they may run short of funds leading into downfall of that company.

Greetings Guys ,

I would recommend one has to check for past of Hosting company offering LifeTime offer . How long they are been in business . And what are their current reputation in market . Also Terms and Conditions they are giving matter a lot.

Lifetime web hosting is definetely the way to go as there is no hassle of renewing (which HELL can be annoying)!

Why would you have to renew hosting? I would have thought that generally hosting contracts are ongoing i.e. as long as you keep paying the hosting is seamless whether you pay monthly or annually. It's going to be a lot more annoying when your 'lifetime ' hosting account disappears 12 months down the lien because the host has gone bankrupt, been bought out, changed their ToS etc.

True. If you are running important websites and downtime can make you loose $£€ then its better to pay for renewal every year rather than opting for one time payment.

You will pay once but how do you assure yourself if that payment would be sufficient for the hosting company to keep your website online. If they dont earn much out of new signups then they wont be able to pay for bandwidth and racks.

...and what happens if you're unhappy with them in 12 months time? Do you get a refund based on your life expectancy?

Well it would depend on the company's TOS, whether they refund your money on any condition or not, and if they do so how much would they refund.

LOL.

Why would they think of keeping any refund policies for such offer. They start such promotion to grab instant money and once the money is inn then it has no way out.

I consider such promotions or offers as good as scams as one time fee for lifetime service can never get success.
