Talking vB 3.7.0 goes gold

I know there are a few of the members of UKWH that have an interest in or run vBulletin forums, well just to let you guys know that 3.7.0 finally went GOLD this afternoon. I've been running since beta 6, but you will find the new features well worth the upgrade

Just as an aside, the minimum requirements have been increased in preperation for vB 4. Its also suggested that you install APC on your server to help with php caching. I did this through support just last week. Its fairly simple to do through the WHM though. Just remember to run off any other caching addons you may be using.

The skin may not work, maybe opt for a new skin

But yeah, I was in the vB 7 closed BETA last november.. Probably the biggest closed BETA they have had yet with regards to bugs/exploits

There is a very similar skin to this one available in 3.7, (I'll see if I can find it again) but yes it may be good for a change

Hello.........

The skin in use here is Hexcell and is available for vB3.07 and all the existing 3.68 skins listed at vBSkinworks are ported for this latest version so there is no issue with compatability, then you have the new skins being listed too.

Maybe if we are to get a new one, base it on a Webhosting skin?

On a side issue I am having problems with threads that I have read, showing up in the new posts search again.

In the admincp, do you have something other than the following setting?

vBulletin Options >> General Settings >> Thread/Forum Read Marking Type
Database (automatic forum marking)

I quite like that, Just they don't show as bold once read. So i can go back to a thread and find it easier

Thats just it, they are showing back up as bold.

I'm even losing current posts that I've not read. ie this afternoon there are 6 new posts. I read one and reply to it - it takes 15 mins to do this. I hit new posts search to see the others I've not yet read and the search has cleared down and just shows my post reply.

To find out what I've missed, I mark my post reply as read manually, do a new post seach and view the 24 hours post search - fiddly or what?

I guess it's an error with your browser.
