Default Photo Blogging

I am looking a blog software for posting many photos, archive photos with captions, I have tried with wordpress using gallery scripts but it can be too cumbersome and hard to customize. Any suggestion for good software for photo blogging ?

Paul, I would suggest you to try PhotoStand at photostand.org/download/
It's a free PHP/MySQL photoblogging application. It is highly customizable, having many features such as importation, template editor, multi-users, etc.

What about just using Flickr or Picassa?

Not sure sorry mate - I've only ever used it as an image catalogue and for uploading photos to Blogger which it integrates really well with. Another alternative might be photobucket which works really well and presents you with a copy and paste link to embed the image in whatever blogging engine you choose.

If you want somewhere to store your images I'd choose Photobucket out of the two, quick, easy and has never let me down. You can get a special Flock Photobucket edition which makes managing your photos even easier.

MyFileHut.com is quite good. It is owned by one of our friend and we have seen his business grow in front of us in last 2 years.

For me, I have found photobucket is quite faster.

You can upload tons of photos in one go. And most of all it is secure.

You can also upload by using windows xp publisher. Very good for firefox users (doesn't mean bad for others) as they says it's built on the same technology as firefox.

Yeah flickr is good. A lot of people uses it. Although there is a limit per month, but usually what they give you is enough.

As for hosting your images, photobucket is good. there's also imageshack. I've personally tried filehut too, saved swf files there and some mp3's. What I like about it is that, if you have remaining bandwidth, it will be carried over to the next month. Pretty cool. :p

Picassa is good i use it for our class pictures and my family pictures but if you are a yahoo user then maybe its easier if you use flicker because you can merge you accounts and you can easily post your pictures on your website.
