Kernel upgrade? (Debian Squeeze)
Hi,
The other week I upgraded my VPS from Etch to Lenny and the upgrade went perfectly. On the back of that success I decided today to try and upgrade from Lenny -> Squeeze.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the VPS uses a shared kernel (2.6.18!) and the udev package in Squeeze is not happy.
Although the VPS seems to be working fine, udev did say that running against an older kernel can cause problems.
So, I'm wondering... is it possible to upgrade the kernel? If it's not on a per-VPS basis, is there any chance of upgrading the shared kernel from the now archaic 2.6.18 (released 5 years ago)? Or does a more recent version of the shared kernel exist and I just need to point my VPS at it somehow?
Thanks,
Luke.
