Hey everyone,
Is anyone else feeling that us poor customers deserve some money back from these jokers? One of my VPS's was down for over 23 hours yesterday, once again making a mockery of their 99.95% uptime "guarantee" and so much for the "Redundant Hotswap Servers". 23 hours is not hotswap!!
But it gets better. I was on holiday during the migration of our other VPS and received a call from the very irate client on there because the site had been down for over 48 hours! So much for "24x7 Pro-Active Monitoring"! It seems to me that they are monitoring the main hardware nodes, but not each VPS, a service I would expect from a service claiming to be a "Managed Linux VPS". I didn't even have chance to warn the client as the e-mail notifying us of the migration arrived a mere 6 hours before it was to be done.
The support throughout this period has been awful. The guys on MSN are hopeless and even the supposedly more experienced guys on the support desk need everything explained 10 times before they understand even the simplest of enquiries.
I'm sure I'm not the only one suffering out there and am still on the brink of moving all of my services elsewhere. Many hosts (including a VPS host that is cheaper than this lot) offer refunds for missed SLA's. I think it's time we all received something back ourselves as well as details on how webhostinguk plan to move forwards from these problems; or are they happy to simply have a high customer turnover?
Dazz.
