Default Importance of blogging and social networking site.

Do you think blogging is like social networking site as here mentioned in wikipedia ? I find there is no real interaction other than "comments" like social networking site though.

I think it’s not an active social network where you'll see interactions happening at the same time but definitely it is a social network of opinions and thoughts which are posted and viewed by masses.

I don't consider blogging a social networking site even though they share one important characteristic that is open communication. While they include the ability to post written material to the web as blogs do, social networking sites revolve more around the ability of an individual to build his/her web presence and to create visible links with others in the network.

I'd agree with Peter - social networking has to involve the creation of a shared network. Blogging is more like broadcast journalism.
