As I am working my way throughover 40 domains to transfer over, I am coming across stuff that my old host provided as standard and webhost do not.
Whilst webhost seems much more flexible and gives away loads of freebies with the cpanel for unix, it seems to me that we need a place to look at other resources offerred to fill in the gaps. For instance, my previous host provided shared SSL on unix with an encryption script (which I just pointed the orders at) AND a control panel for users to log in to collect orders. This does not exists on webhosting uk and needs therefore to be either built by hand or modified if there are scripts out there, so come on chaps lets have some suggestions for who to consider please. ![]() |

Hi, While I agree that different hosting companies offer different 'freebies', I do not consider them important in my choosing a hosting company.
When i choose a hosting company it is based mainly on reliability and uptime. Also my preference to using Cpanel as opposed to plesk,directadmin,etc. I don't consider anything else tbh. Swings and roundabouts as far as i can see. Cpanel isn't free btw. Most of it seems available as open source as well. Not sure what you are looking for, a checkout script? Can you explain a little about the kind of orders? maybe someone can point you in the right direction Good luck

Nope, got the checkout script. but it used to place an encrypted text file on the server:
Code:
$filename = "$time.txt";
open(SECURE, "|/usr/local/bin/encrypt_order.pl $user>/home/httpd/html/secure/$user/$filename");
So what do others use to encrypt the order? |
