Default unable to send to hotmail

I am getting random issues with hotmail. I believe I have a reverse DNS working correctly as I can send to AOL OK and where that is usually the major stumbling block, its working fine.

If I reply to hotmail it arrives, but if I send I get nothing. Due to the fact hotmail supresses NDR, I have also subscribed to Smart Network Data Services (SNDS) but thats not been a help either as nothing is showing in the "data" for my servers IP address.

Anyone able to help? As I say gmail, AOL and others seem to be OK.

I have spf as "v=spf1 a mx -all"

I have a feeling its down to DNS issues

VPS 1 is as follows

host.domain.com carries email for domain.com
this works fine

however VPS2 is as follows

host.domain.com carries email for
domain1.com
domain2.com
domain3.com

and this is the one I am having issues with. I think its related to host.domain.com not matching domain1.com (if you see what I mean)

Hi.
Have you checked for any issues with dns etc?
http://www.intodns.com/

also maybe just a typo
"v=spf1 a mx ptr ~all"
as opposed to
"v=spf1 a mx -all"

apart from single point of failure and SOA expire, its OK

"v=spf1 a mx ptr ~all"
as opposed to
"v=spf1 a mx -all"

I've used -all rather than ~all, under hotmails recommendation

I am still head banging with this one, if anyone has any suggestions please?

I have now determined that "reply" works, but a new message does not.

Jon had similar problem with Yahoo some time back. We got that sorted after days of hard work. Please PM IP address of your server and domain name which is not able to send to hotmail. I'll perform some tests from my end to get this sorted.

I've made some changes to my spf records and I can now get email delivered using my outlook client - replying always works.

However if the email contains a url, then ....failure - the email just disappears into outer space with no NDR. This is particularly annoying when sending forum emails, lost password, activation codes etc - nothing gets through to hotmail. Other ISP's atm seem OK, including AOL.

I dont think its vb related as my other forum and vps has no issue with hotmail.
