PHP upgraded but MySQL failed

I have just upgraded PHP version of my account but MySQL failed after that. Is there a way I can correct it ?

If you are facing following errors while restarting plesk services / mysql service.

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
Unable to connect to Plesk Database: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
System error 2: No such file or directory

You can edit the configuration file
/etc/my.cnf
and disable the '--skip-bdb' option in the file and give a try to restart the services.
mysql will be running ,,,,,,,,,,,
This worked for my case....
