In Need of Semi-dedicated Hosting

Hi,

While looking for a semi-dedicated servers or a dedicated server hosting package,I found WHUK offering better hosting plans, but being inexperienced in this hosting direction would like to know which operating platform should I go with.

Do suggest your view !

Choosing a hosting platform depends upon the applications that you have used to design your website. If you have a website built in asp, asp.net or MS-SQL or you are willing to use any Microsoft application like ColdFusion or any other, you will have to opt for a Windows platform. If not, than you can opt for a Linux platform.

Can you please let me know what are the different flavours of Linux OS and Windows OS that I can get on the Semi-Dedicated server ?

Different flavors of Windows OS which we offer on Semi-Dedicated server are :-

>>Windows 2008 Standard edition(32 bit)
>>Windows 2008 Standard R2(64 bit)
>>Windows 2008 Enterprise edition(32 Bit)

Different flavors of Linux OS which we offer on Semi-Dedicated server are :-

>>Linux CentOS
>>Linux Fedora
>>Linux Debian (cPanel not supported)
>>Linux Ubuntu (cPanel not supported)

If I decide to go with Linux OS, which flavor would you recommend? I will opt for cPanel also. So Cent OS or Fedora ?

If you will opt for cPanel also, then I would recommend you to opt for Cent OS, because its most compatible with cPanel when compared to any other flavor of Linux like Fedora.
