Strange happenings

I keep having some strange things happen, i occasionally get emails from cpanel telling me that my A entry is missing. When i go in to WHM and add it, i get a message saying the A entry already exists.

Httpd and named are showing as stopped most of the time in power panels.

I added an ip ban in cpanel, then got a message saying could not write to a file but then the ip was listed in the ban list.

I restarted Apache today after making a memory change and got a fail message about httpd. So had to do a graceful reboot to get my site back up.

I have had this email on a few occasions

/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:

error: error accessing /var/log/samba: No such file or directory
error: samba:1 glob failed for /var/log/samba/*.log

Beside that lot my site is still running fine.

Such problems mainly comes when Hostname of the VPS/Server is not properly added in VPS or set from the host server on which the server is hosted.

Httpd and named are showing as stopped most of the time in power panels.

If you have ordered any control panel while signup you won't able to start HTTPD and Named started from Virtuozzo Power Panel as control panel installs there own DNS and Webserver (other than the webserver installed Virtuozzo).

Regarding other problems I would suggest you to send an email to our helpdesk along with the emails you have received (for cron and hostname) so that we can get it fixed rightaway.
