Default Why is security factor in E-commerce website most important ?

I want to host a Online store. When I asked for the most important thing to look at in a host, it was security. Is it the most important thing to look for and why ? What are the other important factors to look for in a host for a Online store ?

Yes, security is very crucial when it comes to e-commerce sites. For that you should opt for a hosting provider who offers fully managed servers, as the hosting company has taken precautionary security measures by installing monitoring scripts, software firewall etc. Apart from security the other factors that you should concentrate for an e-commerce site are, design or the appearance of the website, simple navigation process, easy checkout for the ordered product etc

Security is considered to be the most important factor as online payments are done on E-commerce websites and details of customers are entered by the customers which are very important details and should be leaked for any reason. You should check whether the hosting company provides hosting plans and servers which are managed i.e. if all the necessary applications are installed and if the support is good enough and then go ahead.

Customers should feel secure while carrying out financial transactions on an e-commerce website, as they will be entering their bank account details. To build trust and SSL certificate is what most of the e-commerce websites opt for. An SSL certificate assure customers that they are safe from search to browse to buy and sign-in.

An SSL certificate is installed on an individual IP address which again makes sure that the connection between the client's machine and the server is fully secured. Hence, an SSL certificate is essential for an E-commerce website.

When you do business online, people are putting their trust in you. You need to use a secure SSL server to process payments so that everyone's data is protected.

When you start an online business, everything depends on the efficiency and safety of the online transactions. If the online transactions are safeguarded only then the business can be executed smoothly. Moreover if you accept credit cards, the customer information has to be safe. Any breach of trust will lower the credibility of your business. Therefore you have to make sure that the eCommerce plan you invest in provides you with an SSL certificate, if you have sub domains to be secured, you can also use a WildCard SSL that safeguards the sub-domains as well.
