Post What is Reverse SEO?

Reverse SEO has become one of the most effective strategies for minimizing the impact of bad publicity within the search engines’ organic listings. It is an online reputation management (ORM) tool of SEO consultants who manage Online Reputation Management. Too often, companies become targets for negative press online. Angered customers start blogs to take businesses to task for grievances suffered, real or imagined. Dishonest competitors will often go to great lengths to distribute fraudulent reports online. The problem is that these blogs, pages, and reports can begin ranking well in Google and Yahoo.

Google uses several criteria to rank the web pages. One of the parameters used by Google is the authority of the website. The more authority a website has, the easier it is for a page on that website to rank well and maintain the position. In case if an authoritative page carries bad publicity about your company, it gains a lot of exposure within a short span of time. This problem can be resolved by reverse search engine optimization. Reverse SEO provides with a number of tools that can be used to suppress bad publicity in the search engines. The derogatory press tends gain a groundswell of momentum, regardless of the accuracy of the information. Reserve SEO enables you to control the effects of bad publicity by suppressing the related pages in the search engines. Basically it helps to control the ill effects before they grow out of control.
