Default number of words on page and SEO

Recently, I read that pages with 2500 words or more do better with search engine optimization. Don't you find it more difficult to stay focused on a specific topic with a page of this length?

Really? I cannot imagine reading a 2500 word article on a website. I remember ever reading at a good web article should consist of at least 250 words and 750 words at most.

I think 2500 words is too lengthy. I think any informative article should not be more than 500 words. If an article has more than 500 words, it may not hold the attention span of the user.

A page with 2500 words might get more searches only because it has five times more content than a page with 500 words. It seems to me you're better off dividing the content among several pages. Unless it's a tutorial or something of that nature, shorter articles work better.

Most of my website pages are well under 1000 words. Many are less than 500. For longer articles, you can use headings to break up the copy. Unless someone is keenly interested in the subject matter, they aren't likely to read a lengthy page.

I don't think people will ever go through such a huge content webpage thoroughly so it's of no use even though it rank well in Google

I think that the length of an article depends on the writer's skills, as well as the topic of discussion. Of course you can write a 2500 words article on complex topics, and if you have a mastery of words, you can even keep your readers' attention throughout the whole article. However, articles longer than 1000 words about trivial stuff are likely to bore most readers...

It depends on the content. If you try to pad the content to make it a certain word length, your page will probably have a high bounce rate. Regardless of the number of words on the page, it's a good idea to highlight certain phrases by making them bold and/or different colors. Many people will scan your webpage whether it's 200 words or 2000 words.

Writing more content gives you more opportunity to target multiple keywords while still sounding natural. So even though it's possible to rank well in Google for a targeted keyword with let's say 50 words on your page, however you have more of a chance to rank well with a number of keywords if you add more content.

The quality of the content is more important than the quantity of the content. Make sure that you have written a precise post with proper use of keywords, only then your post will secure a good ranking in the search engines.
