Default Website speed affect ranking !

As the title suggest, what's your opinion about website speed and ranking. Do you think it really matters ?
Not too sure about it's relevancy with Google ranking but certainly it's important factor for retaining visitors to your website if you are hosted on fast serves and all webpages are loading fine !

Certainly, fast loading websites are generally attracted by Google bots and hence such websites may rank better provided you have unique relevant content. Though it's considered as a small factor in Google's algorithm for deciding ranking it worth a lot.

Don't forget that website speed does affect users even when the find you. You could be top of the search results for your keywords but that is useless if the site is slow and members get fed up and leave and go elsewhere. It may harm you to a limited extent when it comes to ranking sites in search results but i think the main impact is on losing users when they find you.

Who would like to access a website which takes time for loading? I don't have a lot of patience

According to my knowledge you don't need to worry about the effect on ranking, because website speed time will play a very minor role in ranking of your site. However, if your website loads too slow, then there are lot of chances that you may loose your potential visitors quickly.
If you are still concerned about this issue, then I would recommend you to follow matt cutts blog, where he has described the relationship between website speed and its effect on ranking.

Website speed and ranking are absolutely essential factors for creating and maintaining a good online presence. Especially if its an online store, it is highly important to maintain the speed of transactions; otherwise the customers would conveniently switch to some other website. With any kind of website it is crucial to have good speed, 99.9% uptime and easy navigation. An impressive and full fledged website attracts more customer/visitor traffic and this directly affects the ranking of the website. In order to maintain the speed and uptime of your website, it is important to sign up for the most appropriate web hosting plan that will provide with all the necessary configurations to ensure the smooth functioning of your website.

Speed is definitely a factor for user experience and Google is trying to give the best user experience in it's results. Therefore it's not unreasonable that speed could be a ranking factor.

Indeed, website loading speed is very crucial to retain attention of website visitors and make them stay longer which may endup with a business lead. One more advantage of fast loading website is that your website may get better position in Google provided you have worked hard on the website optimization.

Although website speed and ranking are two different aspects, both are equally important. The ranking of the website does not have any effect on the speed of the website. However speed is also equally important, because when you secure a good ranking and there is traffic coming to your website, if the speed of the website is not good, bounce rate of your website will increase; therefore speed is also important.
