I think there is a difference between these two forms of link building. Acquiring hundreds and thousands of links manually for a site in a short span of time would definitely land the site in Sandbox. The algorithm could be different for websites that receive national news coverage as they don't build links manually. The people using those news for their own sites link back to those news sites themselves and maybe thats the reason they are an exception to the Sandbox rule.
I may be wrong so if anybody's has a definitive answer to this thread please go ahead and correct me. |
