Default How to get top 10 # on Google?

You need to optimize your website or webpage to get a better ranking in Google Search engine results. For this, you need to do a lot of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your websites and should read the guidelines of Google Webmaster to bring your site in top ten results. You should also take care of promoting your websites on different websites and social bookmaking website that could provide with a link back and increase your page rank (PR). This would increases the probability for you to be appearing on top ten.

The issue is most people do not want to promote their site they either want someone else to do it for them (for cheap) or they want it to magically happen overnight (not the case). I would love if someone could honestly explain to everyone that you get out what you put in, meaning if you are not winning to do the time to make it work (or pay for it), its not going to happen.

Great tips though actually I expected something new that I can apply to increase my website rank and position on Google SERP. Does it mean that there is no secret SEO techniques, that all the best and most effective techniques have been invented?

Well, SEO is all about hardwork, keen observation & experiments. Major search engines like Google and others update their algorithm very often so that get more accurate results hence it's a bit difficult to guess more effective SEO tactic or change in algorithm.

Not everyone can be top.

I don't do any SEO at all. I just enjoy my site for what it is and if it ranks highly then great. Coincidentally it's first or second for key search words. I still think SEO is very overrated. People put far too much emphasis on trying to be top instead of making their site actually worth visiting.

Well Said by Pongers, SEO is all about hard work, and requires patience for the results. The result won't come in a day or two, it takes time

top 10 rank in google is possible with original content + pinging + twitter + facebook + buzz. i think so.. But original content really rocks.

I have the same mentally as you. We must not focus too much on being the top. I would recommend that we stick on making our clients or visitors satisfied with our website. Besides, this will be the best SEO strategy that we can do because word of the mouth is very powerful.

Actually, it's been noticed that site owners focus too much on search engines to get good amount of traffic but it's also important to use other techniques like branding, mouth publicity, customer satisfaction, reviews from visitors etc. in order to make your site successful online.

Indeed. It's no good being top if you don't have any content worth looking at. I've found simply having a link in your sig on sites brings in a lot more traffic (as it's more likely to be targetted at the audience you want) than any time spent messing about with trying to win the pointless SEO game.

As long as the blog or forum where you place the sig is related to your website. I've seen links in signatures where the subject is totally different from what is being talked about in forums or blogs. We won't get the right people to visit our website if we do this method.

Of course. You're trying to attract people who like what you write about then you're likely yourself to target those people directly by posting on similar sites. But then having your sig on those sites helps your backlink rating. That's the only thing that I've ever found useful in the whole SEO thing.

Like I said before, not everyone can be top. So just enjoy what you do and what your site is about. If it's any good, people will come.

For getting our site in top ten is done by forum commenting and blog commenting with signature having links, Social bookmarking and posting URL in social networking sites, and posting articles with HTML links.

There are so many factors to be on the top, I can not put all my 8 years SEO experience in one post.

My main advice for success is to do it slowly and to avoid SPAM and Blackhat methods.

SEO is a very hard work.

Alex.
