Default Google doesn't like me any more :(

Hehe, Google don't like me no more.

My personal blog (Dan's Tech Blog) was getting some pretty good rankings for key words for the posts and i was quite pleased... until today.

one of my recent posts about YouTubes new "Turn Down the Lights" feature.... which i basically tore to shreds, was ranking VERY well for the keyterms "youtube turn down the lights feature" for this i was on 1st page and 3rd result was a forum discussing my post.

and for the same phrase - feature it was second page. which wasnt bad really...

And now today?... Nothing.

ALL traces of this post have been removed from google.

I'm not over exagerating either, its not just lost rankings.. its gone

Rather annouyed really, was ranking pretty well.

Seems google doesnt like crit.

Silly Google.

Hi Dan!

I searched it on Google "youtube turn down the lights" and I was surprised to see your blog as a 3rd result on the 1st page. I don't know how can you tell that it has removed.

You can check it once again for your satisfaction!

Well, Dan I think you should check that again. I also searched google.com with the same keyword and I saw your blog on the 3rd rank on the 1st page. Google's algorithm is really difficult to understand and it might be possible that your site will not be displayed with the same rank after some time or it might be possible that it will be displayed on the first rank for the same keyword. But as for now, you site is on the third rank for the keyword. Congrats !!!

Well, I think this might be the case as I have also noticed this. Some of the pages are not displayed on google for some time and they are displayed again. However, I am not sure why this happens but I think this might be the effect of SEO.

I agree with Caroline, the position changes more frequently, you may be back soon btw I noticed your site is ranking for other keywords too in good position in google that means you need not to worry! Google likes your website.

Seems to be an effect of OLD term " Google Dance "
refer last paragraph at...... metamend.com/google-dance.html [ Importance Of The Google Dance ]

Dont worry, just concentrate on adding more fresh content and try to get backlinks, thats all....surely Google will fall-in LOVE with your site

@harry

Thanks for that, just read what u linked to quite interesting admittedly i know most of the theory of it but that explains how it applys to google etc.

I thought it could be a shuffle of some kind and i could understand it dropping, it was it totally vanishing was what i couldnt fathom (and still cant), in every single google (at least 10 country variations/servers i tried) none of them had any record of that blog post, which was what i couldnt get :/ it wasnt lower it was gone.

O well its back up now and ranking excellently.

Dan

Yes Harry is right. You need to keep your focus on adding new content, backlinks and increase the popularity of your website. Let Google enjoy its Dance for sometime.

becasue your page doesn't have any inbound links. Google does tend to show a newer blog article at the top on their results but when times flies, your page will "disappear" and drop down its ranking. However, you can maintain the ranking by gathering linking with the page.

Right, getting relevant backlinks and adding unique contents for your website/blog would help you to maintain ranking for most targeted keywords.
