Smile UK Forum Hosting

Hello,

I am in the U.S.A. and I am interested in any forum hosting packages you might have to offer? Could you give me a quote in U.S. dollars? I need a Forum, and the hosting.

I was also wondering what you allow and don't allow on your web servers? File Sharing, Adult Content hosting Etc....

Thanks for your time

Robert

Hello Robert,

We offer some good forum softwares with our cpanel account hosting plans as well as on windows hosting plans. You can install forum softwares like phpbb from Fantastico Hosting and there are many other scripts which can be installed through fantastico.

We allow file sharing and legal adult content hosting on our servers as we don't have any problem with those. You can take a look at our hosting plans and choose one which suits your requirement for space and bandwidth.

Thanks for responding so quickly. Do you handle the install on the forums? I am interested in something like VBulletin board Hosting I have a PHPBB now, and it seems to be very limited. I like all the goodies you can get with a VB board.

Thanks

Robert

You will need to purchase license for VBulletin board from vbulletin's website. We can provide you with installation service but the licence has to be purchased by you.

You might want to read about the upcoming phpBB3. It's got a heck of a lot more features than v2.

PHPBB is okay, I prefer vbulletin a lot more. I believe phpbb in general has a lot of security flaws (or at least it used to). As they say, you get what you pay for.

There hasn't been a security issue on phpBB. The one it did have, on the now discontinued 2x line, actually affected people who were running out of date software, some 7-8 years ago. A lot of incorrect information has 'become fact' about 2x security.
The current 3x version has no known issues and hasn't anyway as it had a paid security audit.
