I want to host a website developed in Windows Dotnet platform and also want to run child portals. I would like to consider Windows hosting Plans. Can anyone suggest me with the plans as my requirements initially are very basic?

Windows shared hosting plans would be fine for you if you would like to host a website or a portal for which installation on the server is not needed, however, if installation on the server is needed, you will have to consider a VPS, Cloud or a dedicated server. Shared hosting plans won't offer root access to the server and will only provide access via a control panel.

For managing my website, I would require the root access. Can you let me know that whether you provide root access with Windows Hosting Plans? Also can you please suggest any other alternative for root access or any other plans which can provide me with root access.

Windows Hosting is a type of Shared hosting and we do not provide Root access on Shared plans. If you want Root access, then you will have to opt for a VPS / Cloud/ Semi-Dedicated/ Dedicated server.

You may not need root administrator access to the server for managing the websites but it's definitely required if you wish to install an application on the server or if you wish to configure the server according to your own needs. VPS and higher level packages will provide root administrator access to you and hence you can choose the one which meets your requirements.
