Need more information for a Radio website

Hello all,

I am planning to start a Online Radio website but confused how to get started. Can all your experts on this forum suggest me the best package and additional information required to get started with my website.

Any suggestions on the same will be appreciated

Radio website needs good amount of RAM and the bandwidth usage of your Radio website will depend upon the number of concurrent listeners. Dedicated server is always recommended for hosting audio streaming websites as they have more amount of resources available on on them are more as compared to VPS. Moreover the resources like RAM and CPU are dedicated to a single user in Dedicated servers whereas incase of VPS's they share the resources of the main server/node on which they are created. Port speed also plays a major role in this case. Port speed of Dedicated server will always be multiple times more than a VPS which will help your songs to get streamed quickly. If you are not expecting large number of concurrent users initially, you can start with a Dual Core Dedicated server with 2 GB RAM and 2-4 MB cache and upgrade onto a high end server as your Radio station becomes popular and you start getting more visitors on it.

Well, if it's a brand new Radio Station then you can start with VPS or Cloud server or if it's a popular station with huge traffic then you will have to consider high end dedicated server for optimum performance.
Audio streaming requires huge resources(CPU, RAM) and hence it's always better to start with server with high configuration.

A Dedicated server would be the best possible solution for your requirements. It will offer you the resources you need and as it's a standalone server, no other user will use the resources assigned to your server. You can choose a lower configuration dedicated server initially and then upgrade if you need more resources.
