Default Using Softaculous auto installer

I have heard a lot about Softaculous auto installer? However I am not sure whether I should use it or not. How is Softaculous better than Fantastico?

Softaculous is more or less an updated form of Fantastico with more scripts available, so if Fantastico has all of the scripts you use then it is fine to continue with Fantastico.

I would surely suggest that you go with Softaculous. Softaculous is pretty new and has many more things when compared to Fantastico:

Much more scripts than Fantastico are available

User friendly
Installation consumes less time
Import scripts which are already manually installed
Install JavaScript Libraries
Ratings from the users who already have used by others are viewable.
Take a backup of your applications
Overwrite option for already existing files.

I think these attributes will add on to your decision between Fantastico and Softaculous.

Softaculous auto installer allows you to install more scripts in comparison to Fantastico and has a neat and clean interface. It allows you to install even the paid scripts but you will have to purchase the license for those scripts if you wish to continue with them.

I have also heard about Virtuozzo, it it better than Softaculous? If I opt for any web hosting plan, will I have to choose between Softaculous and Virtuozzo?

In case you select a shared hosting plan, Softaculous is offered and in case of VPS or any other higher plan Fantastico is offered. Virtuozzo is a software virtualization application that is used to create VM's.

It allows you to install scripts even paid, but you have to purchase licenses for these scripts, if you want to continue with them.

I love Softaculous. I've used Fantastico in the past but by far Softaculous is much, much better in my opinion! It's included in all shared and reseller web hosting packages with Webhosting UK and I'd highly recommend you use it - even those that can easily install it manually because of the convenience of one-click installation. It has many different forums, blogs (including WordPress) that you can easily install. I especially like the fact Softaculous has WHMCS with a 14 day trial you can use to try it out as well, and if you end up buying a WHMCS license, you can change the installation from trial mode to licensed by entering your serial number in the WHMCS Administrative Panel.

Virtuozzo is a software virtualization application which is used to create virtual machines i.e. VPSs on a dedicated server. It offers the users of the virtual machines a power panel which is known as Virtuozzo power panel. It's kind of a control panel which allows the users to perform some tasks.

Softaculous is an auto-installer which is used to install some scripts and applications. This doesn't allow users to perform any sort of tasks on the server or package.
