What is the main benefit of having a dedicated SSL? I have an online store and I am considering getting a Dedicated SSL...you think its worth the investment? I also wanted to know which type of hosting best suits an online store?

A domain name without a SSL has a url :- http://yourdomain.com
URL of a domain name with Shared SSL will be :- https://server_host_name/~username*~/yourdomain_name
URL of a domain name with Dedicated SSL will be :- https://yourdomain.com

If I decide to sign up for an eCommerce hosting plan, what are the payment gateways that will be supported?

You can integrate various payment gateways like Paypal, Google Checkout, Money Bookers with the help of your Web Developer. You should integrate your website with multiple payment gateways, so that the end user can select a gateway from those options. Suppose if a end user has a Money Bookers account and if your website supports only Paypal, he will not be able to make payment and you might loose a sale.
