Default Onshore or Offshore Hosting

I always get confused between Offshore and Onshore Hosting. What are these terms, what is the difference between them and which one is better than other ?

Onshore Hosting means taking Hosting plan from a provider who has his datacenter in the same country where you stay. Suppose you stay in UK and opt for a Hosting provider who has his datacenter in UK. This is called a Onshore Hosting. Offshore Hosting means taking Hosting plan from a provider who has his datacenter in a different location other than your country. Suppose you stay in UAE or any gulf country and opt for a Hosting provider who has his datacenter in UK. This is called a Offshore Hosting. So selecting Onshore or Offshore hosting depends upon your targeted customers. If you wish to target the customers of your country then you should opt for a Onshore provider or else a Offshore provider.

A kind of hosting plans which are located in your country and if we talk about offshore hosting, is a kind of hosting located in the different country
In majority of times, many of the online clients look for offshore hosting providers. The reason they go for offshore hosting is, if they are hosting the content, some how that may not be legal in their home country.

Onshore or Offshore Hosting depends upon your targeted clients. If you wish to capture market in your own country then you must opt for a Onshore provider and if you wish to target the clients of some other country then you must opt for a Offshore provider.

Onshore or offshore hosting completely depends on your choice. If its a good web hosting company, a reputed one, onshore web hosting is preferable as any web hosting issues can be sorted out within a short span of time.
